Privacy Policy
Effective Date: September 29, 2026 · Applies to zen-anicca.com, the ZEN: ANICCA app and games, and our business communications.

This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect information provided through our websites (including www.zen-anicca.com), telephone communications, SMS/text messaging, our mobile applications and games (including ZEN: ANICCA), and other business interactions.

The zen-anicca.com Website
Forms you choose to submit
- DOJO registration and free listings — school name, address, phone, website and social links, martial arts taught, head instructor and bio, your name, role, email and phone, and any photos, teacher intro video or spotlight link you add.
- Membership, quote and pen order requests — school name, pen text, contact name, email, phone and shipping address. We do not take payment on the website; if you go ahead, we send a secure checkout or invoice link from our payment provider (such as Square), which handles your payment details under its own privacy policy.
- Teacher avatar requests — school, contact details, each teacher’s name and title, and, if you upload them, a recent profile photo and headshot. These photos are kept private, used only to design the requested character, and shared only with the people who design and build it. You may instead e-mail photos to ZEN-ANICCA@zensolutionsinc.com.
- Community submissions (drill clips, family mode, fan art) — display name, email, optional social handle, instructor or school, the drill chosen, your media and, for players under 18, a parent or guardian’s name, e-mail and permission.
- Media release — where a form includes a media release, we store the release text, the version, your typed name as signature and the date, as a record of your permission.
Collected automatically
- IP address and browser type are stored with each form submission to prevent spam and abuse and as part of the record of your consent. IP addresses are also used briefly to limit repeated submissions.
- School code visits. When someone opens the site through a school’s QR code or student link, we add one to that school code’s visit count (and download-button count, if tapped). No name, IP address or device identifier is stored with these counts.
- Browser storage. If you arrive with a friend’s referral code, your browser remembers that code so it can be added to your submission. It stays in your browser and can be cleared at any time. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies on zen-anicca.com.
- Brandy-Mini help bot. The help bot answers from this website and the app guide inside your own browser; your questions are not sent to us or to any AI service. “Use my location” for nearby schools is used only in your browser and is never sent. If you ask the bot for its one-time offer code, we store a salted, one-way hash of your IP address and the date so each visitor gets one code per day; the hash cannot be turned back into an IP address and is not linked to your name.
Checking DOJO listings
To keep the directory authentic, we may check a school’s name, address and public links against public sources. To do so we send that business information — not your personal contact details — to service providers such as Google (Maps and Places), OpenStreetMap geocoding and an AI research assistant (Anthropic’s Claude) that searches public web listings. Their results help us decide whether to approve a listing.
Content loaded from other services
Pages on zen-anicca.com load fonts from Google Fonts, map tiles from CARTO and OpenStreetMap, and the Google Play badge from Google; spotlight interviews may play from YouTube (privacy-enhanced mode) or Vimeo. When your browser loads these, those providers receive your IP address and browser information under their own privacy policies. Links to Google Play, the PC / Web Edition and partner sites are governed by the destination’s policies once you follow them.
What Becomes Public
- Approved community submissions appear on the Community wall with the display name you chose, the drill and your media — never your e-mail, phone or guardian details.
- Approved DOJO listings show the school name, address, phone, website, styles, head instructor, bio, teacher intro video and public review links on the Directory map. Your personal contact details and signature are not published.
- You can ask us to edit or remove a published item at any time (see Contact). Copies already shared by others cannot always be recalled.
Mobile Applications and Games
Zen Solutions Inc. publishes mobile applications and games, including ZEN: ANICCA and other titles in the ZEN series. This section describes how information is handled in those applications.
Playing and saving progress
ANICCA stores game progress, LOTUS, lives, blasts, drill results, DOJO arrangements, earned krama references and preferences on your device. Android also keeps an app-private backup. Guest play does not require a Google account. Clearing app storage or uninstalling can remove device-only progress. We cannot read device-only progress remotely.
Optional Google account and cloud backup
When you choose Google sign-in in the Android app, Google and Firebase Authentication process your account identity. ANICCA receives your name, email address, profile picture and account identifiers. Firebase verifies the sign-in credential. The app does not store your Google password.
Signed-in Android players can back up game progress, chosen fighter, preferences and per-drill gameplay history to Google Cloud Firestore in the United States. Access rules restrict each player’s saved document to that authenticated account. Cloud saves support restoration on another Android device. Progress in the PC / Web Edition is currently device-local; web-to-Android cloud synchronization is not included.
Backups include gameplay counters such as games played, wins and progression so your game can continue. They do not establish ownership of paid purchases or make pending reward references redeemable. See Google’s privacy policy.
Offline play and conflicting saves
Offline progress remains on the device. Cloud backup is retried when connectivity returns. If devices have different saved progress, ANICCA asks which save to keep rather than adding balances together. A device backup is retained before restoration.
Aggregate usage counts
To understand how many people use an application, we may count sessions using a salted, one-way hash of the IP address. The hash cannot be reversed to an IP address and is not linked to your progress or identity.
Reports you choose to send
Contact, promotion and “report a problem” features prepare an e-mail in your own e-mail app. Nothing is sent unless you send it. Information you send, including any screenshots, is received at ZEN-ANICCA@zensolutionsinc.com and used to respond to you.
Purchases and reward codes
In-application purchases are processed by the app store that distributes the application (such as Google Play). The store receives your payment details and shares only a confirmation with us; we do not see or store your card number. When you redeem a reward or school code, we record the code and the player it was used by, so each code can be used only as intended.
What our applications do not collect
Our applications do not request or collect your contacts, microphone, camera, or precise location.
Advertising and sponsors
Sponsored placements shown in our applications and on our website are selected by us and are not targeted using your personal information. Selecting one opens the partner’s own site or application, where the partner’s privacy policy applies. Referral rewards are recorded as a count, not as a profile of the people you referred.
Deleting app data
In the Android app, open Self → Progress backup → Delete cloud account. Confirming deletion removes the cloud progress document and the ANICCA Firebase account; recent sign-in may be required. Device progress remains until you clear app storage or uninstall. You can also request account and cloud-data deletion by e-mailing ZEN-ANICCA@zensolutionsinc.com from the associated address; we may need to verify ownership first.
SMS/Text Messaging Privacy
If you provide your mobile number and consent to receive SMS/text messages from Zen Solutions Inc., we may use your number to send business-related, transactional, informational, scheduling, or support communications.
- Mobile information will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
- SMS opt-in consent and phone numbers collected for SMS communication will not be shared, sold, rented, or disclosed to third parties for their marketing purposes.
- Message frequency may vary. Message and data rates may apply.
- You may opt out at any time by replying STOP. For assistance, reply HELP.
Children
Our applications are designed to be suitable for younger users, and a child can play without providing personal information to us. Parents and guardians should supervise account creation and cloud backup for children. On zen-anicca.com, submissions from players under 18 require a parent or guardian’s name, e-mail and permission, and family-mode clips are submitted by the parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child under 13 without verifiable parental consent. If you believe a child has provided information to us, please contact us and we will delete it.
Information Sharing
We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral or targeted advertising.
We may disclose information to service providers that help us operate our business or provide requested services — for example web hosting, e-mail, payment processing, cloud backup, map and verification services, and the designers and developers who build requested avatars or campaigns — and when necessary to comply with applicable law or legal process, or to protect our company, systems, customers, or others. Service providers are expected to use information only for the purposes for which it was provided.
Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information from unauthorized access, use, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. zen-anicca.com is served over HTTPS; uploaded files and form records are stored on our hosting provider in the United States in a protected folder that is not publicly accessible, and are visible only to authorized administrators until approved for publication. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. Because text messages are not an encrypted channel, please do not send health details, payment card numbers, government identifiers, or passwords by text.
Data Retention
We retain personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected and as required by applicable legal, regulatory, or contractual obligations. Media releases are kept for as long as we use the related media. Application progress stored on your device is retained until you delete it.
Your Choices
- Ask us to access, correct or delete information you sent through zen-anicca.com, or to remove a published submission or listing.
- Use our applications without an account, adjust sound and display settings, and erase stored progress by clearing the application’s data on the device.
- Delete your ANICCA cloud account in the app or by e-mail, as described above.
- SMS recipients may opt out at any time by replying STOP.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law; contact us and we will respond as required.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may periodically update this Privacy Policy. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
